From January 2018, Laminated Timber Solutions became the new name for Korlam, Lamcol and Buildinx and thereby harnesses within one organisation over 60 years of expertise in the design and delivery of enhanced engineered timber structures and elements. Our commitment, expertise, professional and solution-oriented approach has executed the engineering, manufacturing and installation of some of the most impressive and often complex timber construction. Predictable project delivery is key on every project we work on.
The experienced Laminated Timber Solutions engineers will analyse the project with you. They are responsible for the price calculation and the preliminary designs. They will prepare and present a technically appropriate and financially viable proposal in close collaboration with the research department.
The research department is responsible for advanced timber engineering. Our team of highly experienced engineers all have many years of experience in enhanced engineered timber.
On approval of your building project, the research department will convert all design and construction plans using the latest 3D drawing and engineering software programs.
The design and specification community along with other building professionals have come to rely on us for our expertise within this sector and as trusted project collaborators. The design team is central to this close working relationship at the early stage of the project but also maintains a watching brief throughout.
Laminated Timber Solutions uses state-of-the-art CNC machinery and produces precision engineered elements that ultimately combine to form the building “kit”.
The timber species most commonly used at Laminated Timber Solutions for the production of glued laminated timber is predominantly Norwegian spruce and larch and is all Chain of Custody certified to either FSC or PEFC. Norwegian spruce is sourced from a number of sawmills throughout Europe so that Laminated Timber Solutions always has a reliable supply basis for the timber. The larch we use is sourced , either from local domestic producers and/or wood originating from Siberia. The choice will be made in consultation with the customer.
Our own professional installation team is responsible for project execution. The Laminated Timber Solutions site managers have many years of experience in managing the delivery of complex projects and are focused on meeting the customers’ expectations.
Logistics surrounding the moving of large timber components is complex – our 60 years of handling complex and awkward elements helps us anticipate the challenges and overcome them in advance as a result we make sure that your beams , columns, floor and wall elements arrive at their destination in perfect condition.
